Present manuscript was part of collection offered by the Duchess to Colbert in May 1679. A price (7,6 sous) inscribed on verso of last guard folio is characteristic of de Mesmes manuscripts;
1679 (Start) 1732 (End) Colbert, Jean-Baptiste, 1619-1683 (as Jean-Baptiste Colbert)
Colbert acquired the manuscript, among many others, from the Duchess of Vivonne in 1679. His manuscript collection was integrated into the Royal Library beginning in 1732.

The present manuscript was originally given shelfmark 3299.3 by the Abot of Targny. IN 1740 it was reassigned its current number, gr. 2775.
